HEALTH PROMOTION UNIT ACCOMPLISHMENTS

HEALTH PROMOTION UNIT ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

 

 

- Conducted 6 batches of Interpersonal Communication and Counselling (IPCC) Training for Health Service Providers (HSPs) in the Non-USAID-HealthPro areas in the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, & Nueva Vizcaya.

- Provided technical support and funding to the different cities and provinces for MR-SIA Social Mobilization.

- Advocated for more entries in the Red Orchid Awards.

 

- Red Orchid Awardees included the following: Dupax Sur, Dupax Norte, Solano, Provincial Capitol and Veterans Regional Hospital, in Nueva Vizcaya. 

- Provided technical support/assistance on Health Promotion to different programs.

- Designed/Reproduced/distributed IEC materials for different programs.

- Celebrated Dangerous Drug Week with Motocross as the main event (Theme: Play it Drug-Free!); and conducted drug symposium in some schools.

- Monitored application of IPCC Training in some LGUs.

- Coordinated the conduct of IPCC Training and monitoring of its application at the LGU level   with HealthPro & PHOs.

- Conducted the first Annual Convention and Updating on Health Promotion with all HEPOs from the LGUs. 

- Launched & monitored the “Mosquito-Free Classroom Kontra Dengue” campaign (Piloted in 5 barangays each in Santiago City & Tuguegarao City) in collaboration with Dep-Ed, CHED, & TESDA.

 

Other accomplishments through the LHSD and the PHTOs in coordination with the other CHDCV Divisions and in close collaboration with the LGUs and other Stakeholders include the following:

- Allocated/distributed donated pills to LGUs

- Micronutrient supplementation:

 •(100%) provision of Vitamin A capsules

 •Augmentation of Ferrous Sulfate w/ Folic Acid to all MLGUs

- Provided free NBS to 34 babies during NBS orientation training

- Distributed NBS T-shirts & other logistics during NBS meetings/orientation for advocacy purposes

- MOA signing between DOH & DEPED for the installation of Insecticide Treated Curtains

- Assisted in the inauguration of Quirino Integrated Pharmacy

- Assisted in the “I Love Quirino  Caravan” thru case finding, IEC & distribution of Pregnancy Package

- Women’s Month Celebration

- Organizing of Women’s Health Teams in some barangays in Ilagan Cluster.

- Maternal Death Review (MDR)

- Distribution of new microscopes to different RHUs in Quirino (in coordination with GFMAM-PSFI Rep)

- Meeting w/ Med Staff of CVMC re: TB Diagnostic Committee

- Strategic planning w/s, PCC Nueva Vizcaya

- PIR on Pharmacy DOTS initiative

- Consultative w/s for Infectious Diseases 

- Regional Integrated Consultative w/s for NTP/ Leprosy

- Provision of MCH IEC Materials

- Organization of the Regional Nutrition Cluster

- Convening of responders such as: Bureau of Fire Protection, Professional Regulation Commission, PNP, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) or Rescue 29), & CVMC re: National Disaster Consciousness Month

- Celebration of World Malaria Day in Villaverde, N. Vizcaya (w/ P10K financial support from PSFI)

- Provided technical assistance in the establishment of new BnBs regionwide 

- Acted as resource speakers for MNCHN DQC Role -out & FP/EPI integration workshop

 

- GP Monitoring, and provided TA in the:

 •2 BEMONC trainings for 6 RHUs each in Isabela & Quirino 

 •WHT Organization in Rizal, Cag. & Batanes 

 •Post BEMONC training/ evaluation in 6 Municipalities of Cag.

 •FP-CBT Level 1 for private Nurses/Midwives & Social Science Teachers (for Isa., Cag., & Nueva Viz); 

- Facilitated/ coordinated the conduct of BTL in Isabela & Cag.

- Target setting of different RHUs in N. Vizcaya North DCAC

- Conduct of Buntis Congress during Women’s Month

- Preparation of Municipal & Barangay Health Profile in all provinces

- Conducted PIR / Service Delivery Implementation Review (SDIR) on Public Health & Hospital

- National PIR on Communicable Disease Control Program, & FP integration with EPI in all municipalities. 

- Municipal Program Review.

 

C.  HEALTH REGULATION

 

The Regulation, Licensing and Enforcement Division (RLED) is mandated to implement and enforce health regulation and standards. It is tasked to promote and ensure the quality and affordability of health products, devices, equipment and facilities in the region. 

 

Under the current Organizational Performance Indicator Framework of the DOH, the division is concerned mainly with three Major Final Outputs such as Regulatory Services for Health Products, devices, Equipment and Facilities (MFO 4), including Health policy and Health program Development implementation/monitoring (MFO 1) and Capability Building Services for LGUs and other Stakeholders (MFO 2).

 

This division had a total regular MOOE budget of P4, 100,000 for 2011, P3,874,720 of which was utilized in the same year. Following are among the region’s accomplishment highlights for which the RLED has worked closely in coordination with the other CHDCV Divisions, especially in collaboration with the LGUs, Retained Government Hospitals and other health stakeholders in the region:
